Liberty Gate takes new premises and plans London office next

Nottingham-based residential agent Liberty Gate has taken the lease of 1 The Gate House in the Lace Market – and is already planning a London office to capitalise on increased demand for its services.

Having previously operated from serviced office accommodation around the corner on High Pavement, the firm required larger premises to accommodate its growing team, which will increase by a further two members of staff in the next couple of months.

Local law firm Fraser Brown helped to secure the five-year lease of the self-contained office, which was handled by commercial agent heb.

David Thomas, a director at Liberty Gate, said: “Since our inception in 2014 we became very busy very quickly and realised we would need to find bigger premises in Nottingham. Further to that due to increasing volumes of work throughout the UK, we also started to plan for further branches outside of the East Midlands.

“We have been looking for the right space in Nottingham for a while so I was delighted when 1 The Gate House became available as it’s exactly what we have been looking for. It’s within the creative quarter which is where we wanted to stay and gives us the street presence we desired and room for growth.

“We are currently investing in a high spec fit-out ready for an office launch in September and I look forward to welcoming clients to our new home”.

Following Liberty Gate’s success, the company is seeking to capitalise on demand for its services outside of the East Midlands and is planning new locations in London and Leeds in the next 18 months.

Thomas added: “We are planning a London office next year which is incredibly exciting and following that a Leeds base. While our HQ will always remain in Nottingham, having offices in the south and north will help us to better serve our existing and potential new customers in those locations”.

Liam Wilkinson, solicitor in the commercial property department at Fraser Brown, acted on behalf of Liberty Gate. He said: “I’ve worked with David since the company started two years ago and I’ve seen the firm go from strength to strength. Its new premises on Short Stairs is a smart address and a good fit for the ethos of the company.

“Liberty Gate is a great success story and I look forward to working with David and the team on the firm’s future openings in London and Leeds”.
